TCF and TEF Canada results, retake and validity date calculator
Enter your test date to see when results should arrive, the earliest date you can sit the test again, and the last day your results count for Express Entry. Add every date to your calendar in one tap.
Past or upcoming: the dates follow from it.
The issue date on your TCF Canada attestation. Validity runs 2 years from it, so this gives the exact expiry.
We check your results will still be under 2 years old that day.

The rules
Results, retakes and validity at a glance
The calculator applies these rules from the test owners and IRCC. Times are in working days (Monday to Friday) or calendar days, exactly as each source states them.
| Rule | TCF Canada | TEF Canada |
|---|---|---|
| Results | Up to 15 working days after France Éducation international receives your test | 1 to 10 working days after the test |
| Retake | 20 days between sittings | 20 days between sittings |
| Valid for | 2 years from the date results are issued | 2 years from the date the attestation is issued |
Express Entry
What “valid” means for Express Entry
IRCC checks the age of your results twice, not once. Here is the rule in its own words, and what it means for your dates.
Your test results must be less than 2 years old when you: complete your Express Entry profile, and submit your application for permanent residence.
When you create your profile
Your results must be under 2 years old on the day you complete your Express Entry profile.
When you submit your PR application
They must still be under 2 years old when you submit the application after an invitation (ITA). If they've expired by then, IRCC says it will refuse the application.
While you wait in the pool
IRCC suggests making sure your results stay valid for the rest of the time you'll be in the pool. An ITA is valid for 60 days only, so watch the “last ITA date” in your timeline.
If they'll expire first
Retake the test before they expire and update your profile with the new results. A higher score may also raise your CRS.
Applying for citizenship instead? IRCC accepts results you already sent with a PR application, even if they've expired: include a copy. See French for Canadian citizenship.
